Hook 'em

Our week was pretty quiet, I guess. Tim & Pam got back from their fancy Italy trip so we've enjoyed catching up with them & hearing all about their awesome vacation.

We were visited by some Houston residents and recent hurricane evacuees (Pam's parents) later in the week. They were still without power and had decided to seek a little relief for a few days. Matthew loves a full house and was thrilled to have two more people to follow around and ask questions to. And really, the questions just aren't stopping at this point. He is SO curious about EVERYTHING! And the question is always followed up with "why" now. He's been doing it for just a few weeks now and already it's killing me. I don't think I've ever had to talk to so much in my life or explain multiple times a day why we can't wind Uncle Tim's clock everyday or why we're not going to see 2222 every time we get in the car to go somewhere....why, why, why???? Whew. He's asleep now so all is peacefully, mercifully quiet.Pam's parents got word they had power again, so they headed out on Saturday. Steven's parents have been in town this weekend as well so we've enjoyed visiting with them, too. Matthew is so spoiled with all these people around to love and dote on him! Saturday Steven & I had the good fortune to attend the UT/Rice game with the Reners at the newly enhanced stadium. I really don't think I've attended a UT football game since I left college. Pitiful, no? We had some great seats up in the new northwest corner of the stadium. They were high up, but I was actually able to see everything, and for a petite person like me that is very exciting. And they were actual seats with a back to them! So nice. It was a little strange being on campus again and walking alongside what looked like kids that were way to young to be in college. And the cool thing for girls to wear to the game is cowboy boots and booty shorts. Eesh. The game was thoroughly enjoyable...it was a pleasant evening, we won the game, it was Alumni Band day so we got to see that old guy throw the baton waaaay up in the air and catch it (remember that dude, you UT alum??) and I got to see Major Applewhite up close on the jumbotron. Sigh. It was great.Yesterday we went to church and then spent the afternoon and evening watching football here at Tim & Pam's house with the parents and the Reners. We had some awesome snacks, too. Good food really helps when your fantasy team is going down in flames. Just ask Steven. ;)

Why? Why? Why? Why couldn't I have been there to see Major??? Why? Why??

P.S.: Yes, I totally remember the baton guy- love him.
P.S.S: Great picture of Steven with the stadium in the back!

I was told by another parent to use the "1,2,3,magic!" approach to the why's. Three answers, then,"I don't know honey, it's magic!"
