November fun

After Matt's birthday where he received a large amount of Lego, he was inspired to construct a detailed city-scape on the tabletop.  He was quite proud of his creation and all its detail.  But, with 2 little brothers around, this fantastical city didn't stick around too long.  That, and I wanted my table back.  :)
Wonder Woman pedaling away with a large chunk of kryptonite.
Matthew had a music program at school where they sang some old folk songs like "She'll be Comin' 'Round the Mountain".  They were asked to dress in old timey garb, and the best we could do was jeans and a pearl snap shirt.  The performance was great, the set design was super cute, and it was fun to see all the kids dressed up.
Will looked so handsome after getting cleaned up one night that I had to take his picture.  He indulged me.  He also made a point to unzip his jammies a couple inches at the top.  So suave.
Matthew's school put on another fabulous Thanksgiving lunch that we were all able to attend.  Seriously, that's some good pie.
Johnathan's favorite part were the blueberries.  He ate probably 2 cups worth.  Will & Johnny were very happy to be able to eat lunch with their big brother.  After he downed his lunch Matt asked if it was ok if he went and played football with his friends.  Well, sure.  So we watched him run around with a herd of boys throwing the football and fighting for possession while we finished up our lunch.
Whenever we dump out the Legos, this is inevitably what John does at some point.  He finds that it is an excellent way to get our attention.
John loves some dinner time tricks.  With encouragement from his brothers he made some impressive fart sounds with his arm.  He's so talented, and we are very proud of him.
During the month of November we added leaves to our Thanksgiving/gratitude tree.  It was super easy to make and a really great exercise for us all.  Each morning we all took turns sharing what we were thankful for, and I wrote them down on paper leaves and attached them to branches I had gathered from the yard.  It made for a fun centerpiece, but also some reflection and true appreciation & praise to God who has given us so much.  It was cool seeing what the kids came up with each day.  The first day Will said, "Duh, Mom...Jesus of course."  Matthew said funny stuff like "being born at this period in time" and "mom's cooking".  Steven the wise one made it a personal challenge to come up with one-word answers like "wife" and "science" and "help".  Overall, it was a great little family project that I look forward to repeating next year!
