Easter Weekend

We've had a lot to celebrate over the past several days! It was a busy weekend full of fun things to do. We got it all started on Friday when we went to the Rener's for a little Easter crafting and baking fun. The kids made chicks and bunnies out of plastic eggs, we dyed real eggs, read the Easter story via Resurrection eggs, decorated sugar cookies and made resurrection rolls. Caroline & Mary Claire were supposed to join us but poor Caroline came down with strep throat. We really missed them! Ava & Matt made some impressive piles of sprinkles on top of those cookies. They didn't see, but later as I packed them up I shook off the extreme excess of sprinkles on some of them. They had a great time and were chock full of sugar ALL day.

Saturday we attended two birthday parties in the afternoon. The first one had a cool bounce house that Matt disappeared into only to emerge for gulps of juice. He also got to enjoy a cupcake AND a coke float. Yeah. The second party was at the park near our house, and Matt got to enjoy yet another piece of cake. It was a great day.
Sunday morning the boys enjoyed going through their Easter baskets. I think Matt is a little confused as to which one of them got what even though he & Will have separate baskets. He's laying claim to the Curious George jack-in-the-box even though it's really Will's, but that's okay. What's mine is yours, right? At least until Will slobbers on it. We went to church and enjoyed an amazing service. I really, really love our church. Our pastor is on a roll lately, and Sunday after Sunday delivers a dynamic, heart-grabbing, God-breathed sermon that gets me thinking and calls me to action. And the music was incredible. We serve a risen Savior--hallelujah!

After church everyone gathered at our house for one delicious ham-centered lunch. It was all of us Joneses, Bryan & his family, Zach & Joy & family, and Paul & Rachel. It was a house full of fun! I really enjoyed the day with my family and friends. It's so fun to watch all the cousins playing together. Will definitely stirs things up--or destroys things, depending on who you ask. Hope everyone had a blessed Easter!
